WhatsApp pricing
WhatsApp Business API pricing in India 2026: the full ₹ rate card
Per-message pricing explained end to end — categories, the free windows, GST, volume tiers, the October 2026 service-message change, and where BSP markup hides.
What the guide covers
Per-message, not per-conversation
Meta retired conversation pricing on 1 July 2025. You are charged per delivered template by category and recipient country.
The three categories
Marketing ₹0.8631, utility ₹0.115, authentication ₹0.115. Marketing is roughly 7.5× utility — category is the biggest lever you control.
The free windows, and which one survived
24 hours from a customer message, 72 hours from an ad click. Since 1 October 2026 the 24-hour window no longer makes replies free; the 72-hour ad-referral window still does.
Volume tiers
Utility and authentication step down as monthly volume per market crosses thresholds. Tiers reset monthly; marketing is excluded.
GST and OIDAR
18% on Meta charges and platform fees. A ₹0.8631 message is about ₹1.0185 all in.
Where markup hides
Credit bundles, per-message platform fees and “inclusive” pricing. Ask for markup as a percentage over Meta’s published rate.
Why we publish rates and policy dates
Pricing pages age badly, and stale numbers cost readers money.
- Every rate carries the date it was verified against Meta
- Policy changes are re-checked quarterly and corrected in public
- Each answer stands alone so assistants can quote it accurately
- No gated PDF — the whole thing is on the page
