Questions, answered

Rates verified against Meta’s September 2026 rate card.

Is the WhatsApp Business API free?

Meta charges nothing to set up the API and sendlz charges no onboarding or setup fee — sandbox access and template review are included. You pay Meta per delivered template message plus a flat sendlz platform fee.

What is WhatsApp Business API pricing in India in 2026?

Meta bills per delivered template message, not per conversation. India list rates are ₹0.8631 for marketing and ₹0.115 for utility and authentication, plus 18% GST. sendlz passes those through at cost — our revenue is the platform fee.

What changed with per-message pricing and the free service window?

Meta retired conversation-based pricing on 1 July 2025. Free-form replies inside the 24-hour customer service window have been free since November 2024, but from 1 October 2026 Meta charges service messages at the utility rate — model that now if you are support-heavy.

How long does approval take, and what are the sending limits?

Embedded signup links your Meta Business Manager in minutes; median time to a first approved template is 41 hours. New numbers start at 250 conversations a day and step up as quality rating and volume prove out.

Can I bill in rupees and claim GST?

Yes. Indian entities get INR invoices with 18% GST and a rupee wallet. Meta supports INR billing for WABAs created with INR selected; existing USD accounts cannot be converted, so tell us before onboarding.

Which AWS region does email send from?

Your choice. Indian senders default to ap-south-1 (Mumbai) for data residency; EU customers use eu-west-1 or eu-central-1 to keep processing inside the EEA.

How do you handle DPDP and GDPR?

Consent capture and opt-out are enforced at send time, data-subject requests are self-serve in the console, and we sign DPAs with sub-processor disclosure. Marketing sends require a logged opt-in under the DPDP Act and GDPR.
